Today I was driving with a family friend when I almost hit a deer. It was really dark out, and I freaked out because I'm scared of deer. My friend laughed, and explained that in Alaska this was usual, and it's also dark there 7 months of the year. He explained the weird weather of Alaska, and the brutally cold winters. It makes me appreciate the weather in New Jersey, and how we get to see sun almost every day.
I love the fall weather right now. It's not too warm but not too cold. It makes my walk from the pool to my car after practice bearable because my hair isn't frozen and I'm not bundled up in a billion layers.

Invisible Children

The invisible children assembly made mea loss for words. The troubles these kids face in Uganda is terrible; no child should have to suffer through what these children are going through. Children are being kidnapped from their homes, forced to kill, murder, torture, and rape strangers, family, friends, or acquaintances. Joseph Kohnny and Al Queda needs to be stopped. The goals and mission of Invisible Children is inspiring and motivational. I admire the people who are dedicating so much time and effort to helping these children live better, safer lives. Invisible Children is one of the great outside organizations that I hope to work with and help this year in my year of serving as Chairsperson of International Programs.

Ophelia

Ophelia is a very complex character. She's portrayed throughout art, music and poetry.  Some believe she was clinically insane, but what drove her mad? She could have turned mad due to her father's murder, or the heartbreak suffered from the ending of her relationship with Hamlet. Either way, there is sorrow and pity towards Ophelia.
The Band Perry wrote a song with Ophelia as inspiration. A quote in the song is "Funny when you're dead how people start listenin’". In the story, I think people felt the importance and impact of Ophelia and Hamlet's relationship.
